Creating Your First HTML-Based Application for Adobe AIR with Dreamweaver CS4

Learn everything you need to know to build and deploy an HTML-based Adobe AIR application using Dreamweaver CS4. We'll explore the AIR APIs, including the HTML control, SQLite embedded database, Windowing API, and Update Framework, and review the application configuration file and AIR signing process. After this session you will have both an understanding of how to create an Adobe AIR application and your first sample AIR application that you can take with you and build on.

New Flash Builder 4 WSDL and HTTP Connectors

Find out how the added functionality in Flash Builder 4 makes utilizing web services within your Flex applications easier than ever. In this hands-on session, you will learn how to use the tooling provided by Flash Builder 4 to easily create all of the class files needed to interact with WSDL and REST services. Then we will create the code necessary to call and parse the results of services. You will learn how to parse both XML- and JSON-based responses. At the conclusion of this session, you will have the sample code necessary to consume web services in Flex applications.

Please make sure to test the Tomcat server as outlined in the Handout.pdf within the Lab Assets zip, if you are having trouble, make sure you have the Java Runtime installed and a JAVA_HOME environmental variable defined.
